Every year, over 250,000 dogs and cats are euthanised in Australia’s animal shelters and pounds due to the lack of caring homes. Mandatory de-sexing laws and breeding bans aim to stop countless animals from being born, however many still end up on the streets or in shelters. Domestic animal rescues all over Australia are constantly struggling to save the lives of those that enter the shelters, continually fighting for the well over 50% that never make it out. These rescues specialise in rehoming abandoned, mistreated, surrendered and unwanted animals, as well as acting as ambassadors for the de-sexing of animals to reduce reproduction.
With supplies, community support and amazing partners like our friends at Petway and VetnPetDirect, we supply many Queensland & Northern NSW rescues with of food, bedding, leads, collars, preventative medications, toys and grooming products. This allows them to better utilise their limited funds, to save lives and to pay for the necessary veterinary bills for those companion animals that have been mistreated.
We also work with those less fortunate. We support organisations like Pets in the Park, by assisting in the feeding of the animals of those that are in homes, in assisted living or facing financial hardship. The last thing that one needs in tough times, is to have to worry about being able to care for, or be able to keep your best friend, be it a dog, cat, rat or bird.
